The Hypocratic Oath

The Homophobic Quagmire

For the life of me, I can’t understand how it is Isaiah Washington was criticized, ostracized and fired (I was going to try to get one more word in there that ended with “ized” but I didn’t want to sound like Rappin Reverend Jesse Jackson) from his Grey’s Anatomy job for making a homophobic remark, yet Senator Larry Craig is allowed to keep his. I guess the difference is, Isaiah Washington used a naughty word. Honestly, that’s the only difference fundamentally. I guess calling your co-worker a “faggot” is a justified reason for not getting your contract renewed. However, being an in the closet homosexual seeking homosexual sex in an airport bathroom known for homosexual sex acts who votes against homosexual civil rights is not justification for being fired from Congress.

Let’s recap:
Using the “F” word = worse than lewd acts in a public bathroom
Using the “F” word = worse than cheating on your wife (Craig was a staunch anti-Clinton crusader since Clinton cheated on his wife)
Using the “F” word = worse than being a homosexual, and denying who you are
Using the “F” word = worse than being an in the closet homosexual and voting like this:

~YES on constitutional ban of same-sex marriage. (Jun 2006)
~NO on adding sexual orientation to definition of hate crimes. (Jun 2002)
~NO on expanding hate crimes to include sexual orientation. (Jun 2000)
~YES on prohibiting same-sex marriage. (Sep 1996)
~NO on prohibiting job discrimination by sexual orientation. (Sep 1996)

Message understood. It’s okay to be a homophobe, as long as you don’t say the word “faggot.”
